Biography
WHY? is an American band formed in 2004 by Yoni Wolf, a Cincinnati rapper and singer who had performed solo under the WHY? name since 1997. With his brother Josiah Wolf on drums and Doug McDiarmid as multi-instrumentalist, the band developed a half-rapped, singsong indie rock sound on 'Elephant Eyelash', 'Alopecia' and 'Eskimo Snow'. Yoni Wolf's wry, confessional lyrics and the group's collage-like arrangements carried through 'Mumps, Etc.', 'Moh Lhean', 'AOKOHIO' and 'The Well I Fell Into', making WHY? a fixture of the #Anticon# underground.
