Biography
Wooden Shjips are a psychedelic rock quartet from San Francisco, formed in 2006 around guitarist Erik 'Ripley' Johnson with Dusty Jermier, Nash Whalen and Omar Ahsanuddin. Built on looping riffs, fuzz guitar and droning organ, their sound runs from the raw self-titled debut (2007) and 'Dos' (2009) through 'West' (2011) and 'Back to Land' (2013) to the sunnier 'V.' (2018), mostly for #Thrill Jockey#. The line-up has never changed.
