Album Notes & Community Reviews

Encapsulating his phenomenal run of early 1970s commercial dominance, Al Green's 'Greatest Hits' is an absolute masterclass in Memphis soul. Guided by producer Willie Mitchell's tight, incredibly warm rhythm section, the compilation highlights Green's unearthly falsetto and deeply sensual, improvisational vocal delivery. The consistently brilliant sequence firmly solidifies his standing as one of the most romantic and technically gifted vocalists in the history of popular music.
