Album Notes & Community Reviews

Anchored by the pianist's monumental, universally beloved 1954 original recording of his signature composition, 'Misty,' this compilation elegantly summarizes his uniquely lyrical, highly accessible approach to modern jazz. The collection brilliantly showcases his completely idiosyncratic style鈥攃haracterized by incredibly dense, almost orchestral chord clusters in the right hand playfully lagging behind a steadily driving, guitar-like rhythmic pulse in the left.
