Album Notes & Community Reviews

Originally released as two separate installments in 1979, this extensive CD compilation unifies Frank Zappa's sprawling, highly satirical rock opera into a singular epic. Narrated by the 'Central Scrutinizer', the dystopian conceptual narrative explores themes of censorship, organized religion, and the criminalization of music itself. The massive double album showcases Zappa's unparalleled ability to seamlessly weave vulgar, absurdist comedy with dazzlingly complex jazz-fusion instrumentation and xenochrony guitar solos.
