Album Notes & Community Reviews

Gathering the foundational, drum-machine-heavy anthems produced for the legendary Trax imprint during the late 1980s, this compilation cements Frankie Knuckles' legacy as the Godfather of House Music. The tracks expertly loop soaring, emotive soul vocal samples over relentless, skeletal 4/4 rhythms, perfectly encapsulating the raw, ecstatic energy of Chicago's Warehouse club scene. It is a vital historical text documenting the transition of underground disco into modern electronic dance music.
