Album Notes & Community Reviews

Archiving the legendary 1959 field recordings captured by the famous ethnomusicologist, this release introduced the Mississippi bluesman's hypnotic, rhythmic slide guitar style to the world. Recorded on a porch in Como, Mississippi, the stark, electrifying performances became foundational texts for the 1960s folk and blues revival. The remastered release is an absolutely essential document of American roots music history.
