This staggering, 11-CD box set compiles the entire recorded audio archive of the legendary mid-century modern sculptor and furniture designer. Recorded in a barn in Pennsylvania, the music consists entirely of the artist striking, bowing, and manipulating his own massive, resonant metal sculptures to create terrifying, cavernous metallic drones and harsh, shimmering overtones. The release finally properly contextualized his pioneering, highly physical approach to acoustic drone music.
