'Monuments and Melodies' pairs a retrospective of the band's commercially successful singles with a second disc of B-sides, alternate versions and previously unreleased recordings. The new songs 'Black Heart Inertia' and 'Midnight Swim' were produced by Brendan O'Brien, while the rarities programme includes a cover of Prince's 'Let's Go Crazy'. Artwork by Brandon Boyd accompanies a collection designed to document both the familiar catalogue and material previously scattered across separate releases.
