Album Notes & Community Reviews

Consolidating Savoy Records sessions from the mid-to-late 1940s, 'Blue Lester' captures the highly influential tenor saxophonist leading various small ensembles. The recordings highlight his relaxed, vibrato-less tone that served as the primary blueprint for the ensuing cool jazz movement.
