Album Notes & Community Reviews

The Lester Young volume of the Ken Burns Jazz companion series samples the tenor saxophonist's floating, behind-the-beat phrasing across his Count Basie years and later small-group sessions. Issued by Verve, it is a concise portrait of the President's influence on modern jazz.
