Satchmo Sings

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Compiling some of the most charming, deeply romantic vocal performances from his immense mid-century catalog, this collection highlights the foundational jazz pioneer's unparalleled, highly infectious charisma as a pop entertainer. Backed largely by the lush, sweeping orchestrations of Gordon Jenkins, his famously gravelly, deeply rhythmic phrasing brings immense warmth and humanity to classic Tin Pan Alley standards.
