Gathering the entirety of the enigmatic No Wave quartet's fleeting, thirty-minute recorded output, this compilation is an essential document of downtown New York's avant-garde extreme. Mars utilized completely untutored, violently atonal guitar scraping and chaotic, anti-groove drumming to dismantle the basic tenets of rock music. The terrifying, borderline incomprehensible noise preserved here heavily influenced the subsequent development of industrial music and modern noise rock.
