Album Notes & Community Reviews

The posthumous repertory band directed by Sue Mingus performs Charles Mingus's orchestral compositions, and this compilation selects from its first decade of recordings. The arrangements preserve Mingus's gospel, blues and Ellington influences at full big band scale.
