Album Notes & Community Reviews

Compiling the Oxford quartet's first two revered EPs, 'Smile' captures Ride during their most energetic and formative early period. The release bridges the gap between aggressive, feedback-heavy noise pop and the soaring, melodic jangle of their Thames Valley peers. It serves as a vital precursor to the expansive shoegaze sound they would fully realize on their subsequent studio full-lengths.
