Playing the Piano

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Functions as a deeply intimate, self-curated retrospective where the legendary Yellow Magic Orchestra pioneer radically strips down his most iconic electronic and orchestral compositions into delicate solo piano arrangements. The serene, unaccompanied recordings strip away decades of synthesizer production to reveal the core melodic beauty of tracks like 'Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence'. It provides an incredibly vulnerable, meditative look at his compositional genius.
