Album Notes & Community Reviews

Combining the two bleak, acoustic-driven albums produced by Michael Gira and Jarboe outside of their primary work in Swans, this compilation captures a terrifyingly intimate side of the duo. The funereal pacing, chilling vocal deliveries, and orchestrations of strings and acoustic guitars heavily anticipated the subsequent emergence of the neofolk genre.
