Album Notes & Community Reviews

Bentonia singer and guitarist Skip James recorded the material issued as 'Hard Time Killing Floor Blues' on 16 December at the Falls Church, Virginia home of Richard K. Spottswood, who produced the sessions with Louisa Spottswood while Pete Kuykendall engineered. The program pairs revivals of his Paramount sides, including the title track, 'Devil Got My Woman' and 'Illinois Blues', with 'Sick Bed Blues' and 'Washington D.C. Hospital Center Blues', new songs detailing the cancer fight that ended his life.
