Album Notes & Community Reviews

All eighteen of James's surviving Paramount sides, recorded in Grafton, Wisconsin in 1931, are gathered here, from 'Devil Got My Woman' to the piano pieces cut with a board fixed over the pedals. 'I'm So Glad' later reached a rock audience through Cream's debut album, but the originals remain the foundation of his legend.
