Album Notes & Community Reviews

Acting as the massive sequel to his previous holiday box set, 'Silver & Gold' collects five separate EPs of Christmas music recorded by Sufjan Stevens between 2006 and 2012. The anthology wildly vacillates between tender, acoustic indie-folk renditions of traditional carols and chaotic, heavily synthesized original compositions. It demonstrates his increasingly experimental approach to pop orchestration while maintaining a deep, albeit eccentric, spiritual reverence for the season.
