Album Notes & Community Reviews

Masterminded by Capitol Records to coincide with a mid-seventies revival of 1950s culture, this double-album completely bypassed the group's psychedelic and progressive milestones. By focusing entirely on their frantic, early-career rhythm and blues covers and upbeat originals, the collection reframed the pop innovators as a raw, high-energy rock band.
