Album Notes & Community Reviews

Constructed exclusively for the North American market by Capitol Records, this release notoriously cannibalized tracks from the UK versions of 'Help!', 'Rubber Soul', and the then-unreleased 'Revolver'. The album is predominantly remembered for its highly controversial original 'butcher cover' depicting the band draped in raw meat and dismembered dolls, which was swiftly recalled. Musically, it acts as a transitional patchwork highlighting their rapidly advancing studio sophistication.
