Album Notes & Community Reviews

Gathering the entirety of the Los Angeles trio's brief, hyper-prolific late-1970s output, this collection captures the absolute genesis of American DIY art-punk. The Urinals utilized rudimentary instrumentation, highly repetitive two-chord structures, and bizarre, Dadaist lyricism to create songs that rarely broke the one-minute mark. Their incredibly primitive, highly influential 7-inch EPs profoundly inspired the Minutemen and the broader 1980s independent rock underground.
