Album Notes & Community Reviews

Curated by Crammed Discs, this essential compilation highlights the electrifying street music of Kinshasa, prominently featuring the heavily distorted, electrified likemb茅s (thumb pianos) that define the 'tradi-moderne' sound. The compilation acts as a vital companion piece to Konono N掳1's breakthrough album, showcasing a diverse array of Congolese artists merging traditional rhythms with raw, DIY electronic amplification.
