Album Notes & Community Reviews

Devoted entirely to the 'Tizita', a unique Ethiopian musical scale and form specifically characterized by profound feelings of nostalgia, longing, and melancholic blues. Stripping away the frenetic funk rhythms found in other volumes of the legendary series, this compilation focuses on stunning, deeply emotive vocal performances and lush, late-night jazz orchestration. It is widely considered one of the most beautiful and emotionally devastating installments of the Éthiopiques project.
