Fifteen tracks revive the Schoolhouse Rock songs that taught American children grammar and arithmetic, with Blind Melon's 'Three Is a Magic Number' among Shannon Hoon's final recordings before his death in October 1995. Pavement, Better Than Ezra, Folk Implosion, Ween, the Lemonheads, Biz Markie, Moby, Daniel Johnston and Skee-Lo also contribute, recasting educational television songs as alternative rock, with a portion of sales directed to the Children's Defense Fund.
