Album Notes & Community Reviews

This immersive ethnomusicological release compiles pristine field recordings of traditional Balinese cremation ceremonies. The audio captures the intense, interlocking polyrhythms of gamelan beleganjur ensembles, characterized by crashing cymbals, gongs, and driving percussion meant to frighten away evil spirits. The project preserves the overwhelming acoustic power and spiritual significance of indigenous Indonesian funerary rites.
