The Girls of Summer E.P.

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Refining their bleak bedroom-folk into slightly more expansive pop structures, 'The Girls of Summer E.P.' remains one of Arab Strap's most acclaimed short-form releases. The title track pairs a lazy acoustic groove with layers of warm, bittersweet brass and intimate, sexually explicit lyricism. The collection captures a melancholic, summer-drenched despondency, further solidifying their status as master chroniclers of ordinary modern relationship fatigue.
