Album Notes & Community Reviews

Issued as a set of three limited 12-inch releases, 'Shapes' collects Darrell Fitton's recordings under the Bola name, the Manchester producer having assisted on Autechre's 'Incunabula'. Its IDM pairs fractured digital rhythm with lush, melodic synth writing, a duality later resolved when the material was remastered and reissued as a full album with bonus tracks.
