Album Notes & Community Reviews
While initially recorded in the mid-sixties during their brief association with A&M Records, this archival repackaging spotlights the visionary group's raw, rhythm and blues-oriented origins. Don Van Vliet's guttural howl and the band's distinctive, lurching interpretation of traditional blues structures hinted heavily at their legendary future avant-garde deconstructions.
