Why
by Discharge
Propelled by an impossibly fast, thundering drum rhythm that would ultimately christen an entire subgenre (D-Beat), this release is a monument of extreme punk history. The abrasive, blown-out guitar distortion and barked, anti-war lyricism heavily distanced them from traditional UK punk structures. It exerted an immeasurable influence on the global hardcore scene and served as the direct precursor to modern extreme metal.
