Marking the beginning of David Grubbs and Jim O'Rourke's intensely fruitful collaboration under this moniker, the release abandons traditional song structure for stark minimalism. The EP revolves around highly intricate, often atonal acoustic guitar interplay, interwoven with sudden bursts of noise and sparse piano chords. It heavily defined the acoustic, avant-garde margins of the emerging Chicago post-rock scene.
