Album Notes & Community Reviews

As the very first official release from Guided by Voices, this early EP showcases a remarkably different aesthetic from their later work. Heavily indebted to the 1980s college rock scene and R.E.M., the record features clean, pastoral jangle pop and post-punk rhythms, offering a fascinating glimpse into Robert Pollard's foundational songwriting before he fully embraced the lo-fi ethos.
