Blackened Cities

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Comprised entirely of a singular, cinematic 24-minute composition, the Belgian vocalist constructs an intensely moody, slow-burning tribute to post-industrial landscapes. The sultry, whispered jazz vocals drift elegantly over a hypnotic, repetitive post-rock rhythm section, slowly building a profound sense of nocturnal romanticism and urban decay. It earned immense acclaim for its masterful control of pacing and negative space.
