Album Notes & Community Reviews

Recorded as the band was actively dissolving, this final release pushes slightly beyond the rudimentary speed of their early EPs toward more complex song structures. Ian MacKaye's lyrics fiercely clarify the principles of the 'straight edge' philosophy, directly addressing the growing dogmatism within the subculture he unintentionally spawned. It stands as a monumental artistic peak for early American hardcore.
