The Decline

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Comprised entirely of a single, monumental 18-minute composition, this fiercely ambitious project functions as a scathing critique of American societal decay and political complacency. Fat Mike's frantic, multi-part arrangement cycles through dozens of tempo changes, melodic shifts, and intricate vocal harmonies, pushing skate punk into progressive territory. It remains one of the most technically challenging and lyrically dense recordings in the history of modern melodic hardcore.
