In the Sign of Evil

Album Notes & Community Reviews

This intensely abrasive release acts as a vital, foundational recording in the concurrent development of the European thrash and first-wave black metal scenes. Notorious for its sloppy, breakneck speed and aggressively unpolished Satanic imagery, the record violently rejected mainstream heavy metal conventions. The primitive, heavily distorted aggression exerted an immeasurable influence on the entire global wave of extreme metal acts that followed.
