Album Notes & Community Reviews

Representing a substantial darkening of Andrew Eldritch's already shadowy vision, this intensely atmospheric collection slows the group's driving post-punk down to a suffocating, funereal crawl. Propelled entirely by the rigid mechanics of their 'Doktor Avalanche' drum machine, the cavernous production and swirling, hypnotic basslines firmly established the absolute sonic parameters of 1980s gothic rock.
