An eerie, diminished-chord reggae track that perfectly captured the bleak reality of urban decay and racial tension in Thatcherite Britain. Released concurrently with widespread rioting across the UK, 'Ghost Town' spent three weeks at number one, becoming an accidental national anthem of disenfranchisement. The band infamously broke up in the Top of the Pops dressing room shortly after performing the song.
