Album Notes & Community Reviews

Conceived as an ever-shifting studio supergroup led by 4AD founder Ivo Watts-Russell, this debut release formalized the icy, ethereal aesthetic of the entire label. The project notably features breathtaking vocal contributions from Elizabeth Fraser of Cocteau Twins, particularly on their iconic, shimmering cover of Tim Buckley's 'Song to the Siren'. The deeply sorrowful, reverb-drenched atmosphere heavily influenced the developing gothic and dream pop movements.
