Album Notes & Community Reviews

Written by Jerry Cantrell following another painful breakup, 'Heaven Beside You' represents the second single from their self-titled album. The track is built on a somber, acoustic-guitar riff that Cantrell sings lead on, with Layne Staley contributing harmonies during the heavy, alternative-rock choruses. It delivers a deeply melancholic, serious, and introspective reflection on self-sabotage, isolation, and romantic failure.
