Album Notes & Community Reviews
Unveiled as a key early single, 'Ascetic / Forged' represents some of Birth (Defects)' most punishing and misanthropic work. Recorded in June 2015, the tracks showcase a lurching, slow-building noise-rock frenzy defined by Rob Savillo's feedback-drenched guitars and Erik Wisler's pummeling drum beats. This confrontational single highlights frontman Sean Gray's dry, pointed delivery, delivering a potent critique of underground social politics.
