Album Notes & Community Reviews

Composed for Sam Peckinpah's revisionist western 'Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid', this funereal, deeply spiritual acoustic ballad quickly transcended its cinematic origins. The simple, emotionally devastating chord progression and world-weary vocal delivery resulted in one of the most universally covered and enduring anthems of the decade.
