Album Notes & Community Reviews
Masterminded by German producer Frank Farian, this wildly theatrical disco hit repurposed the dark history of the Russian mystic into a massive, heavily synthesized dancefloor anthem. Its thumping four-on-the-floor beat and bizarre spoken-word interludes typified the eccentric, highly produced excesses of the late-seventies Euro-disco phenomenon.
