Pre Dawn / Indoors

Album Notes & Community Reviews

Released unexpectedly via Boddika's Nonplus imprint rather than his usual home at Hyperdub, this abrasive 12-inch signaled a massive shift in Burial's sonic palette. Abandoning his traditional syncopated garage swing, both tracks utilize a relentless, punishing four-to-the-floor kick drum surrounded by harsh industrial noise and ghostly vocal fragments. It stands as one of the darkest, most club-oriented releases of his enigmatic career.
