Burial

William Bevan, known as Burial, is an enigmatic South London electronic producer who became one of the most influential artists of the 21st century. Initially anonymous, he signed to #Hyperdub# in 2005, releasing his self-titled debut in 2006. His sound, a melancholic and atmospheric take on UK garage and 2-step, is defined by fractured rhythms, haunting, pitch-shifted vocal samples, and textures of vinyl crackle and urban field recordings. His landmark 2007 album, 'Untrue', earned a Mercury Prize nomination and codified a new language for emotive electronic music, exploring themes of memory, isolation, and the ghosts of rave culture.
