Album Notes & Community Reviews
CAKE's 'Never There' is a single from 'Prolonging the Magic', built on John McCrea's deadpan vocal, a trumpet line and a spare funk-influenced groove. Its lyric of unreachable affection is delivered with the band's usual irony.
