Album Notes & Community Reviews

Released alongside a heavily discussed, symbol-laden music video directed by Hiro Murai, 'This Is America' abruptly shifts between joyous acoustic choral melodies and menacing, bass-heavy trap beats. The juxtaposition mirrors Donald Glover's biting commentary on gun violence, systematic racism, and the commodification of Black culture in modern media. It debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming a massive cultural flashpoint.
