Album Notes & Community Reviews
A towering, stadium-sized darkwave anthem built on a heavy, stomping drum sample interpolated from Led Zeppelin. Martin Gore's lyrics explore themes of escapism, dependency, and euphoria, widely interpreted as an allegory for drug use or intense interpersonal devotion. The song became the emotional climax of the band's live shows, famous for the crowd's synchronized, sweeping arm waves.
