Album Notes & Community Reviews
Originally released on SoundCloud, this track hinges on a prominent, breezy sample of Timmy Thomas's 1972 hit 'Why Can't We Live Together'. Drake utilizes a mournful, melodic flow to detail feelings of jealousy and isolation following a breakup, heavily influencing the intersection of rap, R&B, and dancehall rhythms. The minimalist, highly choreographed music video became one of the most parodied and memed visual events of the decade.
